Project
Last week was spent exploring the concept of resilience and how it has played out in each of our lives. As we move forward, we will look into how throughout history, tuning into our innate creativity has served as a way to help people remain resilient, especially during difficult times.
This week, we will be taking a closer look at creative ways people have managed to stay connected during social distancing, and then some of the artistic achievements that have come from times of great change in the past. The project toward the end of the week will ask you to channel some of your own creative energies by creating something that depicts your feelings and ways you’ve remained resilient through all of the changes over the last month.

Project
- Today you will choose to either watch a video of a reading of an article or read an article from the New York Times on your own that focuses on how people have adapted and even formed different cultural habits with the preservation of human health in mind. From the Ebola crisis, to natural disasters, people have always found ways to remain selfless and cooperative when it comes to survival.
- Recorded Reading of Connection and Resilience Article (Recording Link)
- Here is a pre-recorded reading of the article. Some context is given by me the more lengthy paragraphs. This here is an alternative way for you to take in the information given in the article.
- Connection and Resilience Article (Article Link)
- This is the same article in the video. You just have the option to read it instead of watching the video. It's recommended that you watch the video because Kat will include more information and clarify on what the article is about.
- Connection and Resilience Article Response Form (Form Link)
- After you watch the reading or read the article on your own, write a response to one of the three questions.
- Mid-week Check
- At some point throughout the day, Kat will be in contact with you to check on your progress. Make sure to respond.
